I play this game, League of Legends. Recently they’re updating all the “old” art with this new supposedly better style. I stare at this on the loading screen everyday, and only just figured out why it looked so funny.
Morgana is doing the boobs and butt!
This is…Ironically the Riven one is done by someone who’s really conscious about this kind of thing. Tbh though I think people overblow how bad the pose is. I don’t see the artistic problem with either of these images, considering that overall they’re extremely well drawn if a bit simplistic for Morgana compared to her in-game dress. Morg’s anatomy suffers a little bit (Ms. nospine) but Riven’s pose seems pretty dynamic and legit, considering she’s in a downward slash. Or about to be, whatevs. Also accomplishes making her seem like she’s moving and not static without 8 thousand speed lines.
Also anyone who thinks the old art was ‘better’ is fucking high considering most of the old art is poorly constructed 3d models printed out to a splash (read: tristana). Personally I think the riven image maintains a really ‘classy’ approach to a really stupid community demanded thing (Money trumps morals, deal w/ it)
Also @Old Art: NOBODY CAN DRAW EYES. We’ve come a long way from that. For the Riven image i’d say the more egregiously bad/weird thing is not the pose, but the manner in which her heels are strapped to her leg. ‘wat’ comes to mind.
here is my issue (I cut out a lot of the middle men, apologies golbee and ark)
with my shitty redlining skills, I have utterly confused myself as to what the fuck is going on below her waist. it’s going away! it’s going away from me and the viewer but her boobs are coming towards us, which produces the boobbutt pose we see today (science). here is some shitty sort of bones to outline…i dont even
so i tried with muscles and it got worse for me. yes it’s dynamic, but she could be doing the same thing with her ass facing in the right direction! and it’d look nice! im not arguing about SEX SELLS BLUH it totes does, and its not even the bunny suit im confused about, it’s why this artist which is really fucking good did this. its silly. they’re a good artist, i mean the art is A+! but there is this and it is confusing and wrong. so there you go!

also, as a connoisseur of cleavage, I find the boobies on most of these art revamps offensive. they’re big but they don’t actually look or feel like big boobs. there is no weight to them, no hang, no volume I want to say, and trust me; clothing looks a lot sexier when it implies weight from those tits rather than some kind of painted on mini top that doesn’t do anything; at least with Katarina and Morgana’s new artwork they might as well be topless tbh. which makes their tits even more baffling.
